Passages1

Backing out of the drive I could hear Greg's voice, "We don't make much of birthdays, kinda play 'em down".
Meg, his wife a hardy now 42 year old, owns her vet clinic in Lake Oswego. I have come to admire her these last 4 months since I care for the children. Tyler 8 and Andy 5. Andy, short for Andrea has stolen my heart, but keeps me on my toes with her percolating thoughts and spoiled theatrics. Tyler is without a doubt, on his way to becoming a solid young man with creative talent, yet undeveloped. His keyboard lessons are giving him a chance to flaunt a natural sense of tone and tempo.
The computer steals him away into the blast of near frontal lobotomy, but he returns thankfully. So the passages of Pre-K to K, 2nd to 3rd, and 41 to 42 were all this week. Summer is here and I have been an observer of family change, all of it significant to me. All of it movement, growth, culminations of hours, days, weeks, years of family and community life.
I don't play it down. Inside my heart are niches of awe and love for a family I have only known for 4 months. They have changed my life forever.
